***NFL off season moves***
Doesn't look like we'll be having a season next year....at least not on time. Still like to keep track of what the free agents are doing. Saints cut Shockey. Kinda sucks because I like him but he's been hurt the last 2 seasons and hasn't been very dependable. Doesn't help his case that we have a new/young bad ass tight end.

IMHO, I don't think cutting Shockey hurts the Saints at all - unless the new kid gets hurt. I thought he played harder/better than Shockey did.
Agreed on his injury history.
The Vikings put the franchise tag on Greenway - ~10 mil is a bit much for him, but he is rock solid. I wonder if they'll try to keep Ray Edwards. There's talk of Atlanta trying to get him.

I had a meeting scheduled with Jerry Jones this afternoon about this very subject. I got to his office and there was no chairs. Nobody had anywhere to sit. He just stood there laughing. Really weird man. So we all went home. He must have a thing about having people show up and not having anywhere to sit. I dunno. He thought it was hysterical. Strange mother fucker in my book.

Tomlinson's going to play another year with the Jets, and they've placed a 1st & 3rd round tender on Holmes and Cromartie.
Carson Palmer said he'd retire before he'd play for the Bengals again. Good for him. I wouldn't want to play with Ocho-jackasses and T-everyone-Owes me either.
He also said," I have money in the bank, I'd play just for the love of the game, just not with the Bengals."

Very good question -
I think there's just too much money on both sides to lose, that they'll agree to something at some point soon.
If they do what baseball did in '94, I'll be just as pissed, and (and as hard as it'll be), I'll be showing my displeasure by not spending a dime on anything NFL related for quite some time - just as I did with baseball.Last edited by FasstChevys; 03-02-2011 at 09:17 AM.

IF I was the commissioner I would make everyone take a pay cut for this nonsense and if they dont I would just get College/Canadian/European players to play. As a fan I dont really care whose out their as long as they are playing hard. If they brought scabs in it would be just as entertaining if not more because those guys will give everything they have on the field. Convincing sponsors to stay on board wouldn't be to difficult and ticket sales would not fall that much.

They will piss and moan, stiff arm each other, but when it comes down to it, owners and players are losing boatloads of money by not playing. They will come to terms, eventually.

at a minimum we won't have a pre-season. I would go one further and say that we probably won't have a full schedule.
