    K member question in a 96 firebird

    Hey guys im new to the ls1 stuff. Im doing a 5.3 swap in a 96 v6 firebird. Ive talked to a few people around here about the k member being different from a ls1 k member. I just looked at a guys car at my shop im doing a turbo kit on and his 99 trans am looks the same as mine. Can someone help me out and tell me what the difference is. thanks

    It's mostly the motor mounts positions. It's cheaper and much less headaches to swap out the k members than it is to fab up new mounting pedestals to get enough clearance for the oil pan and engine placement.
