Convrting a ford engine to the ls1

okay.. i know this is an all Gm site but i figured this was kind of a gm question. I have a 1993 Ford mustang i also have a 5.3 Ls1 engine just layin around. So my idea is to make that little 4 banger mustang into a low 12 sec drag car.. i know i need the K member and the front suppension. but thats all i can gather. If you guys have ever done this or know someone who has the help would be much appreciated. plus i live in denver and will need some one to tune it..

LS 5.3l is a truck engine, not quite an LS1 5.7l but of the same family tree..

Extremely popular swap since the mustang is a much friendlier platform to play with, cheap to buy, and tons of aftermarket support helps too.

I've seen a few of them done around town as of late, but I'm not so sure there are many (if at all) on this site doing it.

Runnin little son-of-a-guns though when they are finished.

I swapped the same motor into my 01 Mustang. Pretty easy swap, lots of people have done it. I used a camaro oil pan and others have used the CTSV pan.
