    Ported MAF

I just ported my stock MAF ends about 1000 miles ago. All and all it was a time consuming task. Cuting with the hack saw in 100 degree heat is fun and for some awful reason the metal is like impervious to any bit on my dremal tool set. On top of that I did not notice any SOTP feeling which I figured I might not. Out of all the mods that I have done this I would recommend last.

With all due respect, porting MAF is waste of time and effort. The end result is very little if anything at all, also will be taking a chance of throwing codes or causing other issues.

I would recommend to channel that time and effort to port and polish TB for greater hp gain.

I ported my first maf, then tried to get my car tuned. It made it impossible to correctly tune. I have an unmodified stock maf, and fast than ever.

    Leave it alone.

Its much easier to just buy a Granatelli MAF. I gained 2/10th of a second in a quarter mile just from a simple bolt on part.

I had my car tuned by EPP, they tried with the Granetelli MAF at first, it made 8 rwhp and 7 ftlb tq more than the stock MAF, but the air fuel ratio was all over the place, in the end, we had to leave the stock one on so I didn't take a chance of leaning out my motor with the new mods.

Is there an echo in here? blackSS01 said essentially the same thing.

    Thanks for the heads-up blackSS01

I ported mine too. My camaro ran fine, but once I installed the SLP 85mm I noticed quicker response then my ported MAF.

Screwing with the maf has hurts other and help others, so its definitely a crap shoot

I'm going to be putting one of these 85mm mafs on my car, how does it fit? will it fit my current bellows and lid? do you have any dyno figures?
