09 Supercharged Camaro
I know there was some speculation about there being a 550hp supercharged Z28 available but does anyone know if it will come with forged internals? If it does that is going to be awsome and so easy to make huge hp.

I don't think this is going to happen.

The supercharged Z28 or forged internals?

Not sure why it's a big deal when we had the same LS1 engine for those 5 years. I thought I heard something about a 650hp vette, maybe that would appease the vette owners.
Vote for Pedro.

ah but it wasn't exactly the same. the f-body ls1 was detuned to purposely produce less power than the vette's ls1.
there will be the z07 vette which is going to have at least 600 horse but i still don't see chevy doin something interesting like offering a supercharger package on the camaro.

Not detuned but purposefully underrated from the factory.

About 2 months ago Bob Lutz stated in hot rod, that the Vette would have 650hp. Speculation is that they will achieve this from a supercharger. Maybe they will offer one on the Camaro also.

No way. I think that GM will put a LS7 under the hood of the 09 Camaro before a supercharger.

I could see z28 having the new 438hp LS3.
SS Maybe having the Z06 LS7....
Who knows though, I'm wondering if they'll have an ss right at the start or wait a few years.
I like the way the new camaro looks kind of, I am almost partial to our 98-02's to be honest. I think they made a sweet looking car with the SS from 98-02.
The LS2 is pretty much done, we know that, and I'm sure the new camaro will have displacement on demand as well. I'm just gonna ignore the six cylinder specs, not really interested...

yup...and with the pony package with the rims, spoiler, and fog lights for free on the v6 model they are trying to keep people buying mustangs before the camaro comes out so people won't want to get a 2nd car loan. you have to hand it to the folks at ford to know how to push a product successfully. if gm knew advertising and was a little closer to their customers the 4th gen f-body would have sold better and they wouldn't have had to have killed it to save it.

Dumbest thing you could do is buy a new Camaro....with a V6.. hahah I'd rather not even have one at all.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Try looking at it this way: The 1st gen's sales were dominated (roughly 50% of sales) by the 327/210 (327 cid with a 2v carb). This would be equivalent to a V6 Camaro today. You guys (allbaugh & aerojt) are like me in that you want only the performance model. Stastically speaking though it's the "run of the mill" non-performance versions (i.e., V6 Mustang) that allow the Hi-Po versions to be created at all. You can't have a sandwhich that's all meat (hi-po cars), you've got got to have bread (non-perfromance versions) and condiments (options) too.

Yeah I agree with that. I know the reasons, if it was up to me I think the world would have run out of crude oil a long time ago! The V6 models just make the original concept cars look bad in my opinion. If you look at the original current mustang concept that thing looked pretty neat. Then when you see the current six cylinder based off that with like 16" wheels and those cheesy color/stripe combos, it just looks sad compared to what was on the turntable in Detroit 5 years ago.
