You might expect an American automaker to reveal its latest muscle car at an American auto show. But Chevy isn't waiting around until the LA show in November to reveal the new Camaro convertible, it's bringing it to the Frankfurt Motor Show for its public debut.

Bearing the same upgrades applied to the coupe (which will make its European debut alongside the world debut of the cabrio), you can tell the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible from previous versions by the revised front end with squintier grille and headlights, bigger air dam and hood vents. The rear end also gets a more sculpted deck, reshaped tail lamps and diffuser. Inside you'll also find Chevy's latest MyLink infotainment system with seven-inch touchscreen display in the dashboard and head-up display on the windshield, but the Recaro seats don't make the jump from coupe to convertible.

Otherwise it's mostly the same as the outgoing version, or put another way, the same as the new coupe but with a fabric roof. Unfortunately Chevy has only released two photos of the new Camaro convertible, but we'll have more for you from the floor of the Messe Frankfurt in a couple of weeks.Continue reading 2014 Chevy Camaro Convertible revealed ahead of Frankfurt debut
