You running boost on an LSx? Step in here please.
I'm curious to know what made you decide on going with a supercharger or a turbo (or twin turbo if thats your style lol). I'll hopefully start throwing some boost at my car in the next few months. I'm leaning more towards the turbo route, but a supercharger isn't out of the question. This isn't a "help me pick a way to go" thread, I just want to know what made up your mind. So lets hear it, how did you make your decision on S/C or turbo?

I chose FI simply because I didn't want to be filling a bottle every other week. It's also nice to be able to drive normal and have the same street manners and gas mileage I would completely stock with the power at my disposal anytime I want it. Plus, it just sounds badass.
Like mentioned, a turbo will make more power as it's more efficient. It's all about your goals.
If it's more of a street car, I typically say something like a Procharger is a good choice. Turbos seem to run hotter than superchargers from what I've read. They also cost more and require more fab work generally. Nothing says that's the case with all builds though. If you have the skill, knowledge, and manpower to piece your own system together you can save a ton of money.
If you plan on keeping the LS1, you should stay at around 8psi unless you plan on upgrading the pistons and connecting rods. The stock cam will also play a factor. If you're going to run a lot of boost you may even need to consider the strength of the block itself since it's aluminum.
Whatever route you take, just ensure you do your homework. Also make sure the rest of the car can handle the new found power. When you start getting into the 500rwhp+ range, things can break quite easily.
Good luck.Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

Thanks for the info and the luck, I feel I might need it lol. So out of curiosity you chose a Procharger because you wanted yours to stay more of a street car, or did you just happen to chose a supercharger?

After talking with several well-known builders they all said it's the most reliable supercharger on the market. That's what sold me on it. Packy and GTP also had a lot of great input. I also have a friend running one on his Mustang for the last 5 years with zero issues and of course Ed here runs one. Don't recall him ever having a problem with his.
There's benefits to both set-ups.
It's all about preference.

I've seen some badass turbo builds. No doubt. I've seen a TransAm that was running twin turbos that was pushing 900+rwhp. It sounded insane.

Procharger. Simple, fairly easy to install. Still gives me access to engine.
