Work up to Turbo
I am an FNG to the turbo world but am trying to learn. I have decided to go turbo over SC, but would like some feedback on what mods I could do to a relatively stock LS1 to eventually upgrade to the turbo.
For now, here's what I have planned to get soon:
Air lid
LS6 intake (for cost, no fast 90 just yet)
Hooker LT headers
ORY
(Already have borla catback)
Strut tower brace
(already have subframe connectors)
Suspension kit (not sure which)
All input is greatly appreciated.

Save your money on the headers. You will need new ones for the turbo kit.
Just my2cents.

Thanks. Yep, I figured I would. Does it do any good to buy turbo headers now naturally aspirated or not feasible? What is the diff?

You can't buy the turbo headers and use them without the turbo.

a lot of aftermarket turbo systems use stock truck manifolds turned around backwards. If you want to upgrade now i would be looking at rear gear, torque converter(if its a auto), and TRACTION PARTS(torque arm,LCAs), also consider underdrive pulley.

Best gear upgrade from 342 for a daily driver? Suggestions?
So with the turbo, you lose the sound of the throaty exhaust for the spool of the FI?
I'm gonna have to search for some audio clips.

I personally wouldn't go any deeper than the 3.42s. A well-matched turbo system will produce ALOT more torque at low RPMs than a typical centrifugal supercharger, and, as a daily driver on street tires, you'll have a difficult time getting any traction.. On my old A4 LT1 car, I was only running around 7 psi on the Turbo technology kit, and the car was a torque monster. I had 2.73s and it was hard to hook.
