    turbo questions!!!!

im getting a 1999 trans am and im wanting to do either a single turbo or twin turbo set up and im wondering if the twin turbo would be worth it in the long run as i am wanting to make this a very streetable car that i can drive daily and then go destroy the track on the weekend. also, i already know i will need forged internals, but what kind of compression ratios should i shoot for? what kind of heads/head mods should i look for? and what should i do as far as the fuel system and computers go? any help will be greatly appreciated!! thank you all!

    What is your goal?

There is a ton of info on this site in the FI section if you use the search feature.

Fuel system will solely depend on how much power/boost you plan on making. Single pump/dual in-tank pumps, injector size, etc.

Again, compression will depend on your goals.

twins are nice for the street

you can use smaller turbos for quicker spool with twins but the cost almost doubles to do a twin setup

If you are going for mild boost(10-15 lbs.)I would build the motor around 9.5 to 1 comp. ratio

anymore than that and I would go for 9.0 to 1 unless you are going for some serious power and boost (like 20 plus pounds)then you might think about 8.5 to 1 comp. ratio

since you are building for street strip I would shoot for 9.0 to 1 or 9.5 to 1 depending how much boost/power you are looking for

your fuel will depend on what your goals are, but If I were you I would invest in a dual tank setup now that way you have room to grow later

but remember with any kind of power your rear end, transmission and driveline are in sereious danger when you are able to hook

your whole car must be upgraded to handle the power
