timing on a SC car need help ASAP!!!
ok what kind of timing shoudl i be running at in this car?? its stock engine with lifters, springs, and rockers, LT1 car, running at about 7PSI, there is a tunning adjuster and my dumb ass friend started messing with it last night and dont remember where it was set at. it was back firing all over the place and only ran smooth at high RMP's and hated 5th and 6th gear

Are you running stock internals too? And is it intercooled? 7 psi on stock internals it bad, but if its intercooled, then it should be ok.
As far as timing, I have no f-ing idea. I would think you would want to retard the timing, kind of the same principle as running juice.

Typically around 15-20* but with no intercooler I would keep it on the lower side. Was it backfiring or detonating? Be careful otherwise you might be looking for a new engine.

Be careful, the stock motor can only take 5-6psi, 7-8psi intercooled. Since you're not running an intercooler yet, keep the boost to a minimum.

I run 8-10 psi non intercooled on standard motors with 15 deg total timing and no detonation. This will depend on how hot it gets in your area though.
