Stock 6 speed vs 550 RWHP

Ive been kicking around the idea of doing a procharger or similar blower on the Camaro. I think ive talked myself out of the turbo, due to the high temps and cool downs and such involved. Procharger claims 35-40% hp gains on mild boost. So, if im allready putting 400+ to the ground, Im looking at a new rwhp # in the 550 range? My concern is the 6 speed at that point. Besides the obvious other driveline upgrades, im wondering if the tranny is gonna sneeze under that kind of a load?

yea..the t56 is a beast..but it needs some work. dodge viper internals are needed...the 2-3 fork replacment..upgraded synchros and deff a better then stock shifter..like a pro 5.0..also just something to think about when running those numbers is make sure to check all your mounts..and keep a eye on your driveshaft.

the stock M6 is good up to 700rwhp and further if not shifted hard. The rest of the driveline is not so fortunate.

I was told that long ago by one of the spronsor builders on another site, and looking at and working with the cars that I have over the last 3 years, I'd say it's right. Yeah, I'm talking about our OEM trans.

hmm intresting...i will take your word for it. I have just herd upgrading the internals to viper t-56 internals was wise when running big numbers..since vipers run 400ish-470 to the wheels and use those upgraded internals

I ran the stock T-56 up to around 560 rwhp with no trouble. I used a Spec 3+ clutch and had a Denny's Nitrous ready drvieshaft. Worked just fine for me then I decided to go TH400 for some more consistent times.
