    On3 Performance ls1 turbo kit

    Hi all

Anyone have experience with this company's turbo kit? I have a buddy who installs and tunes them on mustangs, and now they offer a LS1 kit since about New Years. Looks like a nice setup for $2000, but I'm seeking feedback before ordering it..

    Thanks

I have no knowledge of them, but the first thing that raises my eyebrow is the price.

What is all included in the kit? I'm going to see if I can find them online, and see what they have to offer.

Well, it looks like Jeg's sells their kits too. The price thing still makes me skeptical - although I do see a lot of "options" that improve their base kit substantially. I wish I could help you more - good luck!

I have a buddy pushing 500+ through his 2V 4.6L in his Mustang. He likes the kit an the piping is great. The only complaint is the cheap [Chinese] turbo. For a reliable kit, I would suggest getting a better turbo.

Also, don't skimp on anything. Get the bigger intercooler, stainless piping, etc. Trust me on this...you're going to hate replacing parts when they go bad you you need the upgrade down the road.

Thanks for the replies guys. Aside from the cheapo turbos, the mustang kits are very nice. I will make sure and get the better parts that are optional. They offer optional little stuff like power steering line diverters, brackets, etc that make the install much better.

I'll post up the build on this site once I get going on it. Hoping for 550 RWHP on my stock longblock with 8 PSI. It might be a mistake, but planning to keep my 228R cam in the motor. I'll sacrifice a little power to keep the rumble.

Not running their kit, but im running their T76 .96 turbo in my custom rear mount turbo system. Still running strong. Turbo may be cheaper then most, but so far they are pretty reliable with very few having issues with them. The only guys whining about the turbos are the guys that as soon as it messes up, they get all butt hurt and start trashing them before they even try to get it fixed or even find out how it got broke in the first place. All turbos fail eventually, just depends on how much you want to spend for that warranty for the big name brands out there. so far, im pretty happy with the product and if it fails, it only cost me $350 brand new shipped to my door. a BB is roughly double that price but still cheaper then most. Still looking to see how their front mounts fair over all

Well just installed the BMR turbo k member, full suspension with Koni SA shocks BMR springs, LCAs and relo brackets, adj PHB, new seats, fixed some worn out stuff, etc etc. Now the car is prepped for the turbo kit. Soon as my wallet recovers, will do the turbo and post up the build here.

Still need to decide if I'm gonna run all that power through the 10 bolt rear.....if not that may come first.

    Boost ain't cheap!!!

You ain't lying! My cars prepped as well besides dropping the oil pan but I went with another kit from CXRacing with a 76mm 1.15 housing. I also bought the boost leash progressive boost controller.

    On3 Performance ls1 turbo kit

Just checked out the cx racing website, I had not heard of that ls1 kit before but looks nice. Please post up about your build once you get started. I went w the on3 because my buddy is a reseller for them.

I'm still looking at boost controllers but would like electronic if funds allow.

Are u on a stock rear still or upgraded? What gear ratio are you gonna run?

Strange Dana 60 reared with 4.11 gears.

I actually haven't pulled the trigger yet. Deciding on the CXRacing, ON 3 Performance, or the Huron kit. I am really torn on which way to go.

FWIW the on3 kit is very nice in person, quality welding, v bands, mates up to cat back or dump your choice, nicely built turbocharger. And I'm keeping A/C but you must get the BMR k member to do that.

Can't wait to put it on the car

Nice are you making a separate build thread? I just picked up a Huron kit

What's size is your cam? I have 230/236 112lsa and I'm hearing that it might be too aggressive for boost?

Yep will do a build thread when putting turbo in. I used the k member swap thread posted by Pajeff very helpful for anyone doing that.

My cam is a 228r on a 113 LSA, planning to keep it w the turbo. I bet your cam will do very well esp split pattern, you'll make great top end power.

What size turbo did u get? Mine is a 76

I actually called Texas Speed to order a new cam, and they said that the cam I have will actually do very well with what I'm trying to accomplish. 114lsa would be optimal though.
