    oil from sts turbo

o.k I have been having problems every sence I installed the systems.I had the car on the dyno a while ago and it was running really rich and made less power than before I installed the turbo. sent the pcm back got it retuned, he took some fuel out, the car didnt run any better. so we thought the optispark is bad. so I just pulled the opti, but when I took the intake tubing off it had lots of oil in it. looking @ the maf its coated with oil. so were is the oil coming from. are there seals in the turbo that might be bad. If the turbo has to be rebuilt would it be better to just get a new one ? thanks...

Some people complain of the oil pump from STS not pumping oil correctly causing it to leak into the turbo and force it's way up to the intake. I suggest cleaning all the piping and ensuring the the routing for the oiling system is correct and over the axle.

Also on your STS wiring harness there should be a toggle switch(on/off) branching off the main harness around the PCM are that controls hi and low oil pumping pressure. Experiment with that switch and if you have any more issues I would call the STS tech line.

I myself have not had any oiling problems with the kit and I have been running the kit for quite some time now.

Oil or any type of contamination on the MAF sensor can cause the PCM to either run too rich or too lean. For the MAF I suggest getting a can of MAF cleaner sold at Oreilly's and clean it well. Let it air dry then re-install and re-test.

There is a check valve on top of the turbo that is supposed to prevent this issue. If it is leaking, you will get oil in your intake tube. You need to fix this, because it will cause oil to get on your MAF, which my tuner told me will cause it to run badly.
