    Need advice from you guys.

I posted this in the internal section. Hope thats ok. I just want to get the supercharged guys input also incase you guys don't frequent that section.

I come from a mustang background. I know 302's 351's etc but I am clueless on the aftermarket parts for the ls1 350's. I will be picking up a 2002 corvette that has been wrecked but it only has 33,000 mi on it. In doing research on this site that motor cam with 350hp stock. Well, like most of you that's not enough. My last build was a vortech supercharged 302 H/C/I making around 470 at the flywheel.

I say all that to say,

What is the most cost effective way to get close to 400 rwhp or better quickest and least expensive. (Meaning I do not mind to use used parts) This motor will be going in a kit car GTM from factory five so exhaust mods are not needed. I can bolt on or I can go inside the motor but no NOS. Thank you for your time in advance. Kris

I would like to put together a list for NA and for supercharged.

If you can find a used supercharger($2500) like my buddy did that will put over 400 at the wheels if you already have a good exhaust. Just gotta get the right tune.

Or you can get a cam and set of stage 2 or 3 LS6 heads. I know my friend who has a vette shop said he could get me the heads and a cam for under $2000.

heads/cam. Forced induction on the LS1 is not cheap. 400rwhp with a cam and longtubes, 450rwhp with heads, cam, longtubes.

Are you saying that with a cam and a set of stage 2 or 3 heads I will be near 400rwhp? I'm researching them now. Kris

450rwhp is a lot coming from a ls1 that what, makes around 300 at the wheels. I'm not saying it won't as I don't know, but i'm happy to hear it.Are the stock heads/cam just that restrictive or is there just that much left in the motor.

Better than 9 out of 10 cam-only cars make less than 400rwhp on the Dynojet that I tune on.

a set of good longtubes, AFR heads and a 230ish cam will get you over 425rwhp with a good tune. If you don't believe this go to the dyno section on tech.

I believe ya. There are so many options. What are the most common tried and tested combos.

Example. With the 5.0 mustang... Most common budget build... Mild trick flow stage 1 cam, gt40 heads(from explorers) explorer intake(upper and lower) 93 cobra tb. This will take you from 225 stock to around 270-285hp.

I'm reading I'm just overwhelmed at the moment. Thanks, Kris (maybe by frost?)

So, something like this would put me near 400 with a tune?

I have been reading on here for only two days so forgive my ignorance.

If I can get 400rwhp with a cam and exhaust. Maybe I should be shooting for 450rwhp or more.

So, ls6 heads, cam, and tune. Will the stock intake manifold support that or will it become the bottleneck. I'm not looking for 800 hp. But I want to get the most hp for my buck.

I think the futral motorsports cams are great. Look them up and LS6 heads are decent. AFR or trick flow seem to be the ticket these days. In 2002 my 2000 SS dynoes 425rwhp with GTP heads and a 224/228 cam and mid length headers. That stuff is old new now.
