interesting turbo idea
I was talking to a friend and he thought of an interesting idea and wondered if anybody has done it before. It was to make a rear mounted turbo setup using an electrically controlled cutout so you could either run with or without using the turbo. I am sure in order to do it you would have to get creative for the computer controls, but I think it would be pretty sweet if somebody did it properly.

yea you would have to figure out the tuning portion for sure....but I guess I'm wondering why you'd want to even do this anyway????? If you put a turbo on a car dont you want it available all the time???? Just use the old "take your foot ouf of the gas" method...lol....

agreed with cailey 37 on that... Turbos are great because as long as you keep your foot out of it, it's just like a stock car. The electronic cutout would be a pain in the butt because they all leak a little and I'm not sure how long the solenoid on the thing would last with boost behind it, since alot of the cutouts solenoids fail on normal applications anyways.

The idea is unnecessarily complex, with a turbo you can just take your foot off the gas and the turbo just simply doesn't spool until you put your foot back in the gas.
Sorry dude, no dice.
