exhaust turbos attach directly to the exhaust under the car. They take up less room than one under the hood. There is a few running around here,

I have to agree with everyone else....an exhaust turbo is a turbocharger, an "intake turbo" has to be a supercharger. And as far as remote mounted turbos go (ones not under the hood), yeah the STS is the one that comes to mind.

If that's what you're asking about 20redybody00, then there are both advantages and disadvantages to a turbocharger and a supercharger.

As far as single front mounted turbos under the hood go, I've only ever really seen custom setups. But APS offers a twin turbo front mounted setup.
Here's what you see with the hood open:

    And here's what's going on....

Rear mount turbo setups are junk! Sts kits are pieces of crap. If you want a turbo system put it up front where it belongs....

The APS system looks sick, but unfortunately its been plagued by a few problems. One issue involved the piping collapsing (sucking shut), another issue involved the clearance between the IC piping and the suspension components (interference), and the worst issue is with the turbos, which apparently have an extremely high failure rate. Many guys who have the kit have had the turbos fail, only to get another set and have the same thing happen.

well that fucking sucks =( I had been planning on using this system in the future after I did internal mods.......hmmm....however, I do know a couple guys around my area that do fabrication work.....they did a custom single turbo front setup for one of my buddies. Maybe I could work out the kinks myself....plus I would get different turbos to better suit my setup.

but that's just talk for now....no funds anywhere near the amount I would need to do this stuff.

Not trying to turn you off to the kit...its one of the best complete kits out there. However, it goes without saying that no kit is perfect, and those are just a couple of the issues you may encounter.

The APS turbos are junk. From what i've seen and heard they use junk Made in China turbos that have a habit of hand grenading themselves. I really like the STS kits plus they are wayyyyyyyyy better to deal with than APS. APS wouldnt even send compressor graphs of the turbos and the customer service guy was an ass
