lol your gonna get that the whole time on this website.
I believe STS makes a FMIC that doesnt cut much of anything. They do say that you should hole cute about 8 holes into the front bar, but thats up to you to get the full effect out of the FMIC. I read that on the GMhightech website. YOu go that kit that the one guy was selling didnt you wish i i had the funds to get it at the time but $2000 for a almost complete STS kit is pretty good. Congratz on the new toy.

Ive always liked the STS kit. Its different and thats what ive always been about. If anything if you can get dimentions on the STS version, you might be able to find a cheaper universal FMIC to go in its place. You might have to fab some extra pieces but you wont be spending $1000 either. At least you got the kit for an affordable price. Leaves you extra money for supporting mods for the kit. I wish i could have gotten the one that the other guy was selling still. Wish he was selling that in Jan lol i would have had plenty of money lol

You can always go to Ebay and piece a kit together from a generic FMIC kit.

Go with a 31x12x4 intercooler. Ebay is a great place for that stuff. This intercooler is rated to about 1k hp

I also got my cooler from cxracing. Nothing wrong there! The fab work all depends on how you mount it. in the middle of the front support bar(requires cutting said support bar) on in front of the support bar but that makes for very tight space/clearance.
I've been getting that for years now all the way back to when STS first came out with the Fbody kits. You learn to learn from everyone elses experiences to make your kit/setup better then show the "nay sayers" on the road!

not tryin to start sh*t just askin..
Rear mount is a great starter turbo kit if youve never had a turbo car , rear mount = amazing top end and is RELIABLE because theres nothing to it... just keep an extra oil return sumping pump in the car incase the one you have goes out... Ive had 3 rear mount turbo cars and they all were a blast !!
If you plan on being a full competition car than step up to a Engine mounted kit , more maintenance tho and tighter fits imo , ive had both and they both are fun ! also you should be able to run at least 9psi on that kit w/o an intercooler (entry of air under the car is cooler than engine compartment),but if you want an intercooler go for it...Last edited by blackmagicturbo; 01-05-2011 at 08:08 PM.

I would HIGHLY reccomend an intercooler! IAT's at and psi of boost is enough to cause severe damage. If I remember correctly on an 80 deg. day unsure of humidity... I had IAT temps near 115 to 125 on 5 psi.
I've also seen other go w/out meth or a cooler and burn holes in pistons and other sever internal damage. Just my 0.02's

125 degrees ? thats pretty good considering its about 300 degrees at the outlet of the turbo .. even with an air to air intercooler on 25psi intakes temps will reach 125 degrees ,just sayin . burning holes in pistons is a tune issue period..

^^^ what does that have to do with intake temps ? 5 psi or 25 ? it was just a statement .. anyways ive been turboing cars for 15+ years and im just saying 100 + degrees for a street car is not that uncommon..

But why leave so much power on the table because your tunning with the higher IAT?
-

Agreed intercoolers do make more power ,but some people cant afford to install them, or can not fabricate to install them ,, not everyone is tryin to build an 8 second car .. turbo ls1 on 5-9 psi is gonna be fast intercooler or not lol ,, but if its a reliability issue its in the tune-up..

I would at the bare minimum throw a meth kit on their to lower the IAT temps
