Am i to hot?
I have a 2002 Trans Am that has a D1SC procharger supercharger. The car runs about 210 just sitting at idle. The air conditioning is off with nothing ealse on. When i turn the air on at idle it will jump up to about to 230-240 in my opionion i think thats too hot, but is that normal with a supercharger? It will even get hot running down the road with the air on!, around 220. I just reciently bought the car and i noticed that it had one electric fan. Does just one come in the supercharger kit? The car was built with no budget in mind. I have invoices that total up to $42,000 in just parts. Any other advice would be helpful to me because this is the first car i own with a supercharger. Thanks in advance! Oh yea i live in lower Alabama where its really hot

Make sure the fan is blowing towards the car. And yes, it comes with one fan.

I really dont know. I would have to make a phone call to the guy that built the car. Are they hard to install?

Its not that bad. You would also have to reprogram your fans to come on earlier. Make sure the it blow towards the car.

Yes, but don't use the tuning. Do you have one already? Because HPtuners would be better.

Few things I would do...and have done....program the fans to come on about 190.....drop a 160 stat in there...and water wetter.....I swear by that stuff...we use to put dishwashing detergent in and see a 10 degree drop...but water wetter is great stuff... http://www.redlineoil.com/products_coolant.asp ...do the above a step at a time....program the fans first to come on around 190....see what happens...then I would use the water wetter.....see what happens...last but not least I would drop in the 160 stat if I was still running over 220 after the first two steps...if not leave the stat alone.....you dont want to be so cool you never go into a closed loop....

How long will it take to pull out the stat to see the temp? Would i be able to identify a 160 stat?

No, tuning is down with the PCM in the car.
HPTuners is $500 but you can tune 2 Vehicle Types. Instead of being locked in to one car.

One thing, and this may sound really stupid, but it happened to a friend of mine. Make sure the little plastic air dam under the front bumper is still there. It is VITAL to engine cooling. Coolant temps will jump about 20-30 degrees without it. My buddy ripped his off after it broke over a speed bump... big mistake.
