5.3 turbo

Going to install 5.3 out of 03 silverado in a 78 trans-am. would like to upgrade it with a turbo. any body sale a turbo kit or what would be good turbo for pretty much a stock set up?

That thing is stronger than you think... of course you will need new valve springs for backpressure, but you will able to push that motor safely further than a stock-inch LS1 with a turbo. I would look towards a 76mm for that setup. The TC76's seems to be a good deal for what you get.

With an A2A IC and some supplemental meth injection, you can make almost 700 to the tire with that motor and still keep it together. Amazing...

what abt w a carb through set up? what kinda of power can i expect?

a little more (30-50 hp actually) the intakes are more free flowing for carb'd applications.

Just do yourself a favor upgrade trans to a 4l80 if you dont have one already,60s wont llast,no matter who build it !
