1 bar MAP and turbos
I was talking with a guy that programs ECMs, and he stated that for boost levels of 7-8psi, that he can easily program the computer to run with a 1 bar MAP sensor. How is this possible? How can the computer detect the boost?
This guy is a pro, so I am sure there is something I am missing, but I don't know what.
Thanks.

once the map sensor is maxed 0.5 psi or so the computer goes into pe mode allowing u to tune it a lil bit depending on the ecm

Do you get more tunability with the 2 bar MAP? Otherwise, why use it if you can tweak in PE mode?

Not sure why he'd want to use a 1 bar sensor....these are typically just for N/A cars.........would be curious as to his reasoning on this one......think I'd ask some more questions on that.....

1 bar is tunable until you max the MAF around 512g/sec. Then it's time for a 2 or 3 bar speed density setup.
