02 Sensor or not with turbo...

when installing my custom turbo that im building would it be best to leave the cats in. or if i take them out, what on earth do i do with the 02 sensors. plz help.

Remove cats, leave the front 02's, have the back 02's tuned out, install a wideband 02 in your downpipe.

well actually hold on. im installing a rear mount so no downpipe, just a "Y" under the car back to the turbo as 1. should i put it in the single pipe?

If you have the front mount,before cats you could leave them cats on, but I would just take them out,the front 02s are the only ones you need,tuner can delete rear ones and or turn them off.If you have a rear mount turbo setup which means turbos after cats I would NOT have cats at all,throw em aways sell em whatever.regardless you need the front 02 sensors,you also need a 02 sensor after the turbo exhausts to tune the car right.

Not at all ,I have one after my turbo exhaust dump into the rear exhaust,If you look close at my pic you can see ,follow the exhaust from the tip back to the 5 bolt flnge on the right rear turbo,see the 2 sensor sticking out,perfect place for it,also a 02 sensor will n t work correct if you have it inline with boost,by that I mean you cant get a good AF before the turbo as the boost pressure messes with the 02,I found this out the hard way after trashing two 02 sensors.

ahh, i see, well with that being said, ill just have him tune one of them out and well move one to the back.. you like that idea.

No both front ones need to be used ,not sure you can tune one of the front two out,you have to buy an aftermarket wideband and use it I have mine mounted in the guage pod on pillar.

ahh, looks like my car minus the gauges. lol. i miss her, and just drove her an hour ago. god damn, i love my goat. she's gonna be amazing with the turbo, i just know it. i wish you were close by, i know im gonna need some help putting all this together, (i think anywayz)

you dont need your front O2s either. depending on how the tune is. Mine is OLSD and my tune isnt effected by Narrowband 02s. its bascially a fuel injected Carb'd setup. you tell it what it needs

Im in ohio,wide bands vary in prices,mine is a AEM 2 years no problems,thats an old pic its in the three guage pod same place as one in pic,i have AF,boost and fuel pressure in the tripple pod now.

so wait, do i have to mount the wideband O2 in the back or can i use one of the deleted ports from the old rear o2 sensors in the ypipe for the wideband? im getting everything pieced to gether still but im pretty close to getting it on the car and not sure where to mount the wideband O2 sensor for a rear mounted turbo.
