2011 F1™ season
The season started last weekend in Oz.
We have new rules/benefits like the returns of the 'kers' system, adjustable rear wings as well as a new tire supplier (Pirelli).
Not to mention some of the race topics (Buttons penelty, Sauber disqualification, etc)
Discuss.

Not a fan of KERS... or honestly the DRS... I know they do it to say that there will be more passes? But will it honestly help anyone other than maybe the guys that are kinda stuck in traffic...
If someone were "stuck" behind a lesser driver the combo of boost and reduced drag will help them get around (as shown with Buttons pass), but in the case of 2 drivers that are very close to each other i think it will make for false passes... As in whoever is in the rear might be able to pass, but when the advantage goes to the person he just passed the position will soon have to be surrendered again...
I dont like the flatter nose on the MC MERC (similar to the force india)... like the more beak like one... they ran in years prior
KERS is costly (some would argue dangerous) and a nod to hybrids and greenies... If you want the cars to have 80 more hp or be more capable in the straights restrict them less and give them adjustable wings...
Pirelli was sucking...
DRS looked to really be upsetting the cars when it closed at the end of the straights... I cant beleive it shuts so fast...

The Mexican was fucking awesome! And a rookie too!
Congrats to the Russian. We're gonna be seeing more of him too.
If the first race is an indicator, there's gonna be a lot of different front runners. Ought to be a good year.

Hell ya!
I was worried there would only be Nascar fans.
I hope for a good season as well but the Red Bulls hardly missed beat from last year!
Agreed about the DRS it will have to be 'tweaked' asap.

I liked how Tony Stewart....oh wait.... j/k
I just got cable at my house after being in the dark ages for a couple years, so if I get time I will be following some of the F1 races. That being said, I have seen nothing yet this year. Life happens

These are my boys this year.
Seb (who is a jack ass IMHO, not that i would be acting any differently if i were him) is really dominating this year, but i love how Lotus has really made a jump up toward the big boys this year... I was cheering them on last year, but they just couldnt compete...

Boo on LOTUS for not really running a good race...
Huge BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO on Pirelli... Shitty Shitty Shitty tires this year...
The star of the race was easily Webber... freaking INSANE... 18th to 3rd with CERS (sp?) not working... that is amazing to say the very least. When he passed into a podium spot i was screamimg so loud the dog went to the door to be let out...
BTW... My DVR only caught about half of the after race interview... I missed the Webber part... Does anyone know where i can find that?

It was done in an attempt to spice up the racing, having tire strategy was supposed to make it better.
Personally and I've said this a million times, quit messing with it.
Too many restrictions and you have a Euro NASCAR.
Let em develop active suspension again, any motor type and size with weight being the control function; EG. V 10s weight X, V 8s weigh X minus some pounds, etc.
Induction systems are wide open.
Bring back re fueling and produce one tire type for racing with the usual tires for rain.
To me, that would be formula 1 at it's best.
This section of this site has been dead for sometime.
I really follow F1 and now that the United states will have two Grand Prix per year, we should see a tremendous increase in popularity.Be who you are and say what you feel 'cause people who mind don't matter, and people who matter don't mind.'
