Torch Red- 1999 Corvette Hardtop
Got a new gun, anyone know the Bersa Thunder?
Wife got me a Bersa Thunder .380 for Christmas. Havent shot it yet, I know it is a ppk wannabe. Anyone have any experiance with this gun?
.380 ammo is hard to get right now, but i cant wait to shoot it. I love new guns. This is only the second .380 i have owned. Other being the LCP. Wife got it for $300 bucks. Not bad I think.
Here is a pic from the net:

A quality gun for the price. I had one for a while. Do a google search and you will find a lot of people that like them.

cool, I wonder about accuracy and jamming. I guess Ill have to try her out and see.
Why the hell is .380 ammo being treated like gold these days? 9mm is almost same bullet and I can find it anywhere now.

Looks like a nice little piece. I have an S&W Sigma .380 that is a great concealed carry gun. Was not aware that .380 ammo is scarce... guess I'll have to take a look around my area as I am about out of rounds for it.

They are good guns.....all the .380 ammo you need is right here....Shoot a few hundred rounds through it before you call it ready for defense.....

.380 is a necked down 9mm. I'd be afraid to carry anything that small as a defensive weapon.

As far as i know...its not necked down....i recently bought some 9mm brass, and some 380 casings slipped in, i went ahead and loaded em up along with my 9mm and gave them to my friend. I know when you're buying projectiles, its all the same for 38 special, 9mm, and .380
Yeah i dunno why its hard to find, but my surplus sites are all empty, as well as the retail places around here.
sarges site looked good though
i like www.surplusammo.com

Sweet Jesus Christ.
"Necked down 9mm?"
"Afraid to carry it!?!"
Sir, please sit down and don't talk about guns anymore.
The .380, or 9mm Kurtz is a 9x17mm casing.
With modern defensive loads, they have as much power as factory loaded 9mm.
380, 9mm and 38 auto all use a .356 diameter projectile.
357 mag and 38 spl use a .358 projectile
9mm makarov(9x18) uses a .364 bullet
And 38 smith and wesson uses a .361 bullet.
But they're all the same right??!!
The Bersa Thunder I just sold held tight groups out to 15 yards. I also think its a better gun than the Walther, considering what your getting for the money.
I just recently sold mine to buy a Sig P238.

LoL I have a Bersa Thunder .380. I would have no issue carrying it. Heck stand in front of me and give me one shot. Mine looks exactly like that photo. Good solid gun accurate and no jams for the 100's of rounds throught it. I prefer my 1911's .45 ACP's. But even a .22 kills. I have thought of going to 9 but just enjoy the .45 ACP to much.

Kentucky? I would say saquatch, you know them hillbillies get all drunk on that shine and swear there ar saquatches if i was in any city I would agree those doped up on meth and other nasty drugs type people tend to live a little longer than you want, usually long enough to get their hand on you and fuck you up good. And then there are the body builders juice heads that are about the size of sasquatch. Give me a .45 thank you very much

The .380 IS a short version of the 9mm, and the ballistics SUCK compared to a 9mm. I don't carry anything smaller than a .40, including my backup weapon. 9mm is an anemic round. And no, a 90-95 grain .380 will NOT equal the performance of a 115-123 grain 9mm. Step away from the crack pipe.

Thats so funny to read since im more of a rifle guy.
dont get me wrong, im pretty good with a handgun. I'm not competition worthy, but I can hold my own.
Anyway, its funny to read that cuz I'm used to punching the same hole at 100 yards, and bitching about my groups at 300, lol

ya, I figure a gun is broke in around 200 or so usually. It is probally going to be my carry gun, so I am glad to hear good things about it. I know some people dont like to carry anything less than a 9mm or some think bigger. But I think it is better than trying to carry my heavy ass p95 or glock 22. A small gun in your pocket is better than a big gun in your night stand. Unless, of course you are in bed.
thanks for the link,
maybe im livin in the past, but Im not going to pay those prices. When i was breaking in my LCP .380, I was paying $16 for a 50 pack of fiochi and around $18 for winchester white box. I sure hope these arent what you have to pay now to get .380 ammo. I guess I should go buy up all the 9mm and .40 cal I can why its still kinda cheap.
