Called Glock today. Good and Bad.

So, I just got off the phone with Glock and had a mixed-feelings experience.

I called them because I did a complete disassembly of my Glock22 and found my trigger housing pin sheared in two. It probably happened when I was removing it but I've had the weapon since '03.

First placing the call brings me to some secretary who is obviously not pleased with how her life turned out. Guess she didn't make that movie star status MTV told her she was gonna achieve. She was pretty rude, so much in fact I asked if I had called at a bad time after she loudly sighed into the phone.

I get to the cust servicing dept feeling a little less than impressed. But after talking to them, and without any fuss, they are shipping me a new pin tomorrow at no charge. Still, I wish I could throw gum in the hair of that broad that answered the phone.

If everyone has as much trouble with their turd Glock as I did with the three I've owned, she probably gets lots of overtime and no breaks. I'd be grouchy, too. Never again will I own a Glock. In my experience, that is a waste of some good metal and plastic that could have been formed into something decent...like a Springfield XD.

I've never had an issue with a Glock. I carry Glock 23 for CCW

I had a 23, 19 and a 19C. All were piss poor firearms. FTF and FTE malfunctions at least one every couple magazines. Several different mags, several different ammunition types, ranging from round nose FMJs to JHPs. It ain't exactly my first rodeo with a pistol, either. None of my 1911's have any issues, nor do my XDs. It's just a Glock thing, and I don't understand.

As much as I love my XDs I've had multiple ftfs and ftes with my XDm9. Never had a failure of any kind with my XD45. No pistol is perfect imo but there are hundreds of thousands out there that will prolly disagree about the reliability of their Glocks.

Agreed, there are many folks out there who think Glock is firearm...well...perfection. That is a fact! I, however, am not one of them.

0-for-3. Not so good. I wouldn't take one for free, if I had to carry it. I'd only take it to sell or trade for something that I felt like I could trust.

9mm 1911's are supposedly notorious for FTFs. Neither of mine have had more than a couple of hiccups, ever...nor any of my .45 1911's, either. Full size, Officer's, Ultra compacts, 9mm, .40, .45...Color me a fan.

    I have 3rd gen G17 and G20. sold my 2nd gen G17.

The second gen ran perfect. The 3g g17 runs fine, and the only hiccup ive had with the g20 was a bunch of light primer strikes during the 2009 IDPA postal match. Experienced 11 fail to fires. We disassembled and found that a bunch of schmutz(lint, oil, carbon) had built up in the firing pin channel. Swabbed it and ran fine.

the only feed issues Ive ever seen were from Scherer and other crap aftermarket mags.
