I have shot up a shitload of this stuff also...it is the exact military round that "failed" final inspection....due the brass not being polished to a high enough standard......they do that shit on purpose to make it available to the public....

Not really....I keep mine in ammo boxes in my master bedroom closet....I also throw a decedent pack in each one and change those out once a year....

If it is not showing any sign of corrosion and has been kept dry it is good.

People are still shooting WWI ammo as long as it was kept dry and constant in temps. 5 or 6 year old ammo kept in the same conditions is perfectly fine, but I still recommend you buy new ammo YEARLY for any gun you count on for defense. I'm sure you have no doubt your life (and/or loved ones) is worth a $40 investment every year. Use the older stuff for practice.

$10 for $20 rounds? thats kinda steep by my standards, 50 cents a round, i wont buy anything over 38 cents.

I just picked up some BVAC match HP in lake city brass for 36 cents. $180 for 500

I suggest you never, EVER, start shooting .50 BMG then. Try about $5 a round!!!
