xp boot cd

Ive downloaded a couple of different version of xp I want to try out. The problem is I want to be able to boot fron the cd to kill everything on the hard drive. I did a goggle search and there is several differnet ways. How ever I still just dont get it. Anybody care to maybe explain a little further?

I'm confused. You want to boot the cd to test out the version of XP or you want to wipe your HDD and install the version on the cd?

you need to create a boot cd...the install cd that microsoft sends..can format the drive and has alot of trouble shooting programs...but dos or the 98 style of running solely on cd isnt built in

Both. I had a version of xp installed. I downloaded another version. I put that version on a dvd but couldnt boot from it therefore I couldnt format the hard drive because existing xp. I figuredit out though. I tried xp black and now installed crystal xp. With the cd bootable I k now partitioned my hd for a windows section and a data section. Thanks though.
