Similar Spaz Really similar. as far as mechanics etc. the Story line is WAY different. RvR (pvpv) is Constant and immediate, you can leap into it from Anywhere. there are specific areas that are under constant battle. In WOW the battle was long ago. in WAR. its NOW.. heheh Classes are similar but again not. I found it WAY easy to play as I am an old WoWer
Freakin awesome game. Way better than AoC online (altho AoC had WILD graphics) I couldnt get into the mechanics of the game. WAR has this mechanic set up that you can just join RvR.. Get a round in (or keep joining for multiple sessions) Its great

You cannot have Order (Allied) and Destruction (Horde) on the same server.. I like that, no bullshit kids leaping from side to side in conflicts
And the classes differ a bit side to side. Dorf Hunters drop Gun Turrets/Flame Turrets and land Mines.. Goblin Squig Herders summon this reptile beast that varies to do similar jobs DPS, Ranged and you can explode them (for the land mine effect) So its NOT like wow where its carbon copy of each other. and my Squig herder casts Squig Armor and summons a Giant Squig and rides around in its Mouth.. Funny as shit

Try playing WoW PVP servers. They disallowed multi-side character creating in the PVP servers.
Yes, if you have played WoW, war is a joke to get into. Everything is as streamlined and as simple as WoW. The classes are also somewhat copies of eachother, but then again they aren't. RvR (PvP) is the main focus of WAR, not PvE as it was in WoW.

I didn't know that, interesting. I simply dislike the long queue time for PvP on my server. I also like the reward system better atm. That may change as I get deeper into the game, but atm. I Like having a 20th Toon with almost 30 reknown.. I also like that I can change out my tactics bar for either increased exp/gold/or skills etc Flexibility is cool.

1999- Grand Prix GTP
I was waiting for this topic to come up! I was a long time WoW player, about 2.5 years with a great guild. I eventually just got tired of WoW and said "I quit". I went out looking for other online games and found Age of Conan. That one wasn't for me, I really wanted to like it, honest, but the mechanics just weren't for me and my game style.
Then Warhammer online came out and I'm thrilled! I really, really enjoy playing this one!
Agreed!
War is Very similar to WoW, but fresher, easier to play, and better PvP. I only have two lvl 10 characters so far, but I'm really liking it!

Eh WoW's pvp was better overall. I dont like the whole team mechanics as much. I like more individualism. I have a shit load of diff chars on servers badlands and wolfenburg.

Not sure I understand what you mean by individualism ? I go in solo all the time..Do my thing... Lay out some hate and anquish and then go RIGHT back to my questing, I don't even have to go into town to do it..How can you not like that ? Or if I want I can go to Preset areas... Run around solo or join a group..It's your call. No long queue's..Reknown gear vendors are all over.. as are the skill trainers for Reknown..(PvP skills)
Every has a preferrence tho.

Level 28 Marauder on Volkmar server. War is great. I have more fun playing War than I ever did with WoW. Very happy I made the switch,
