whats the purpose of having a solenoid by the bottle valve?? saw this on friends car

there was a solinude right by the valve on/off and when asked what is that for he said its a saftey thing soo if everything on not working right it wont fire. im just curouis what it actually does

not sure. i know people have remote bottle valve openers. basically the NOS version is a huge solenoid.

thats what i said but he was sooo sure that it had to do something with the saftey of the system. hmmmmm

sure it does. you remote close the bottle and purge out the line. this saves wear on the nitrous solenoid. hence a safety item.....

no, ive heard of this being done before - 2 n2o solenoids, just in case 1 sticks open on you, the other will still close. a friend of mine blew up his 05' gmc sierra that way. the n2o noid stuck open, blew the motor up, and when the truck was off, you could hear it spraying still.
