Troubleshooting HSW Dry Kit
Alright, hopefully someone can help me; I bought a HSW Sudden Impact Single Nozzle Dry Kit from another member on here about 6 months ago. I didn't test the solenoids, other than listening for leaks after install, and then spraying... Well the other day while my intake piping was off, I decided to put some plexi against it and activate the WOT switch to see how the nitrous came out... generally I was just bored and curious... Bottle on, system armed, no window switches to worry about, purged fine, but when I triggered the WOT switch, the solenoid just "clicked" and nothing happenned. I figure it's got to be either a relay issue or a solenoid, but which? Any ideas?
The interesting part here is this: How long has it not been working? Has it ever worked? Have I gone through 4 bottles thinking I was spraying but actually having it all just be psychological and the juice was just being used to purge and open/close the bottle? Hmm...She's baaaaaccccck...

??? Does your system have two solenoids, one on the fuel presure safety ? The other on the throttle switch ?

If so, you might want to jump the wires together on the fuel presure switch & try it.

Was the bottle pressure too high? I hear if its too high the solenoid might not open.

No, pressure was fine, and it's a dry kit, so no fuel solenoid, just a single solenoid. I'm thinking that I can just try jumping the power wire from the wot switch to the solenoid and bypass the relay, so I can at least narrow it down to that...

Call Matt at HSW before that but sounds like you got the right idea.

If the system worked before, and you heard the solenoid click, it's not the relay. Are you sure it was the solenoid clicking and not the relay?
If the noid clicked and nothing came out, the plunger is stuck or debris in the line.

also you may need to have the engine running not just on acc.

Tried it with it running and not... I hate to say it, but as I've never been in a nitrous car other than my own, I don't know if it ever worked? I thought it was, but I can't say there was ever any huge difference with the bottle on... so I'm really not sure. I guess I'll just replace the solenoid, test it, and then jump in the car... that should answer a few questions that are bouncing around in my head!

Just to update, I jumped the WOT wire to the solenoid and all was good, so it looks like I've got a dead relay; simple enough. Now the big question is this: Has it ever worked? I guess I'll know the first time I spray after I fix it!
