    Pipe dope or Teflon tape

Last time at the track the car was ½ sec. off the mark or about 50wrhp down with my NOS system on. Just did a driveway test and it spays OK at first then slows then spays again, I see and hear leaks around the two solenoids (dry system).

My question is; what is best pipe dope or Teflon tape

I used pipe dope the 1st time setting up the system about two year ago, will it dry out over time?

Use teflon paste the tape can come off and get in the solenoids. Fittings can need to be re done sometimes but normaly if they don't leak when you install them then shouldn't leak later either.

Thanks, any brand? Home depot or Auto parts store carry the Teflon paste?

I forgot to add that the solonids were pushed back some, I rear ended a truck this spring, looked OK at the time.

loc tite, good call Ed. I didn’t think of that, great stuff used it in the past.

Web site recommends 545 thread sealant or 542 thread (fine) sealant

im just gonna say that tape and dope shouldnt be used to "seal" a leak... the seal should be leak free due to metal to metal contact... the tape/paste is really supposed to be used as a lube to allow the fittings to seal together b4 binding... or so i was taught...
