Does a filter help the system work any better or just keep trash out of the solenoid?

And if you make sure the lines are clean of debrees before you hook it up to the solenoid, where are you going to pick up trsh and dirt that can cause the solenoid to stick?

I always thought that places that refill the bottle filter it before it goes into your bottle??

Maybe i need to pick one of these up.

No, they don't "help" the system performance wise, but they do "help" keep it free of junk. The trash comes from your nitrous bottle, and it's introduced to your bottle when you get it topped off. Some places that do refills have filters and others don't, it's hit or miss. If the mother bottle has a siphon tube installed there is less of a chance of getting your bottle contaminated then if the mother bottle doesn’t and has to be upside down.
