How Much gas??
ok, just a quick question before i i finally get some nitrous on my 04 M6 LS1 Monaro(GTO). The car is running with a 232/234@112 comp cam at the moment, hardened pushrods and PSI springs with a stock bottom end. Already have installed a wlabro 255ltr/h intank fuel pump. car is making just on 400hp at the treads.
How much spray would you say is safe with my combo? 75? 100hp? 125hp? 150hp?
Planing on using a wet plate kit, window switch , fuel presure switch, bottle heater with preasure switch, nitrous filter and purge kit.

hmmm no replies, i have done seaches, seems that 75-100 would be a safe bet?
I'll be putting in some 42lb injectors and a surge tank also before adding the Nitrous kit to the mix.Last edited by Grizzly; 01-06-2008 at 07:11 PM. Reason: spelling

you can run 100 shot all day , there are tons of people running stock motors using 100 shots, you can run, some people say you can run 125 shot like they did on stock motor with 145K miles on it. but you have good pump and injectors you will be fine , dont forget spark plugs they are one or the most important , these are what you want . http://www.harrisspeedworks.com/shop/home.php?cat=309 good luck with everything , if you have that with the set up you have no you could do 125 all day , even 150

there is a nitrous tuner on here that swears that you can spray a 175 shot through a bone stock ls1 and multiple others have done that amount with no problems. I would say go with at least a 100 if not more shot you should be safe with a 150 shot depending on your tune
1998 Firebird Formula WS6... few things done.

The best answer to this question is simply, have it tuned on the dyno the first time you put 150 thru it and make sure your A/F ratio is good. She'll take the 150 all day long without problems.

definatly getting it dyno tuned, my only concern is that with the size of the cam i am running that i am running. don't want the bottom end to fly apart. What would be the max RPM you would go with 100-150 shot? The cam i am using makes power on the dyno to 6700rpm. cam is 232/234@112 lift is 595/598

Whats the bottom end look like? Also, have u done things like spring and pushrod upgrades? If so 6500 redline should be fine... much more than that and ur pushin ur luck on the stock bottom end IMO.

I would blow a 150 no problem!! Then after I got it to hook on that and made sure that the A/F ratio was where I wanted it I would step it up to 175.
I HAVE NEVER USED A WINDOW SWITCH AND NEVER "WAITED UNTIL 3000rpm" to hit my kits. AND NEVER HAD A BACKFIRE IN 15 YEARS!!
If the unit is tuned right you'll have NO issues hitting it from 16-1700 rpm. I grabbed the kit on my GTO with STOCK converter right out of the gate doing 1.55 60 fts on 17"s. Over 50 bottles..... So you tell me.Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

Silver- 2000 Camaro SS
I wish I could cut 1.5x 60'
Last year it would have put me at 11.0x. Oh well, I have made many changes for '08, hoping for 1.4x 60' this year.
I have always sprayed a dry kit right off the line, no backfires for me either.
