autometer gauges? Are they half decent?

What is everyones opinion on autometer gauges. I know they arent the best but are they really that bad?

i am installing a N2o kit on my car and I have a friend who is willing to let me have his autometer ultra light nitrous PSI guage and Fuel pressure gauge.

They worked perfectly in his old car. The guages are about a year old.

I notice these guages sell for about 75 bucks each online... are they really that bad?

Would you guys recommend them and install them in your car if you had the chance to get them for free.

I would love to buy some dyno tune ones$$$$ but if i can get away running these autometer gauges that would be great.

I know of lots of people using them on the boards, never heard bad things .

Autometer was the standard in meters back in the day before digital stuff

AutoMeters are fine. They have different series guages that vary in quality like everyone else.
Stay away from AutoGuage line they are junk.
All others are plenty good for anything your doing they set the standrds for everyone else.
They still manufacture lot's of guages that other companys put there faces on and market.

Autometer makes top notch guages. Other than the Autogage series. Who told you Autometer was bad? Look in any car in the Nextel cup and you will see Autometer guages. Not to mention most NHRA cars as well. Any newfangled high dollar guage you can waste your money on won't do a damn thing any better than an Autometer.

Yes machanical is what MOST run in race cars...... Due to the fact your not relying on a elec. sender. I would be highly pissed if I shut my car off half pass due to the oil pressure falling off..... And it was only the sender.
