Question 150 wet on stock engine

I was wondering if there is any problem with me running a 150 NX wet kit on my trans am. It is pretty much stock except for longtube headers, ory, loudmouth, slp lid, and smooth bellow. All the internals are stock. Have all necessary hardware for the install just wonderin if engine, tranny etc. can handle it

the engine and trans should deff. be able to take it, 150 is the highest shot that i've heard to be ok to run on a stock engine reliably. You are pushing it with the 150 wet, but it should handle it. Just my opinion, i know others will correct me if i am wrong

The engine should be able to handle it. I ran a 150 on mine for two years before my tranny died. I had an A4, didn't spray through the shifts.

Just make sure you have enough fuel, run all the safety devices and don't run lean.

I agree with all the above....only thing I would consider is a 1 range cooler spark plug....

I would also recommend a fuel pump. I have seen a few cars lean out on a 150 wet. I would also recommend taking some timing out of it. I will be a safer way to run the 150shot. Just my .02

    Talking Thanks

Ok, thanks guys, i have ngk tr6 plugs already and im have access to ls1 edit to turn up the fuel etc. I have my own cable on ls1 edit because I bought it from a guy I know, so tuning is no problem. My Nitrous will turn on at 3000RPM and turn off during shifts. Im a newbie on this site and this was my first post ever, so thanks for the help!

I believe the fuel pump issue is that the stock pump can't handle the demand for fuel. Thats why another fuel pump was recomended, at least thats why its recomended on the trucks.

i am thinking about nitrous on my car, but i'm a pussy and would only run a 100 shot i think, as long as i get up over 400 i'm happy! do you think you can spray thru the shifts with a 100 shot?

Remember its not HP that kills trannies. Its torque.

Some have gotten away with it. But plan on a rebuild.

how do you program it to not spray on the shifts? is it similar to a window switch or what do you have to use?

It IS using a window switch. You put in what "pills" you want the swtich to allow spray to begin and when to end. I think they come only in incriments of 200. Most people like to cut it off at 5800. You can also use a progressive controller.

ok, i know how a window switch works, but when you are saying not spraying on the shifts, are you just talking about setting your window to below where your rpms fall on an upshift?

You stop spraying just before you shift.

The window switch controls it. It fires the solenoids if Im not mistakes, it will fire them at lets say 3000 rpm then drop them out at 5800 or whatever your pills are set for so from 5800 till your shift point it wont be spraying, then when it shifts it will spray again.

(This is how I understand it at least someone correct me if Im wrong)

Hey about those msd window switches, the msd runs into a relay does the relay ground itself have to be provided? I am not sure if i am supposed to ground out the msd window switch and leave the ground out of the relay or ground both for it to work?
