My quest for more POWER, oh and to fix lifter tap!

I have been having some bad lifter tap and I decided to do something about it. I did not experience any symtoms until I installed a Procharger. I guess the addition of boost and faster revs took its toll on the valvetrain even though the springs, rockers and pushrods were aftermarket. Fortunatley the bottom end is still holding! (crosses fingers)

Well anyway, I currently am putting down 450 rwhp. Since I gotta pull the stock heads, I might as well upgrade!

I am currently installing on the LS1:
    - Trick Flow Generation X cylinder heads
    - Harland Shark 1.7 roller rockers
    - Trick Flow 7.5" hardened pushrods
    - GM MLS head gaskets
    - LS7 lifters
    - ARP bolt kit

I am hoping to gain some bigger numbers from the cylinder heads! I know a blower cam would help alot, but it is not on the list yet.
How much you think I'll gain?

    My current mods are:
    - P1SC Procharger @ 8#
    - LTH's
    - 2.5" true duals over the axle with X-pipe
    - LS6 intake

I am totally amazed at the condition of the cylinder wall with around 60K miles

Stock intake port. It sure could use some work to make it flow!

I just had to paint the valve covers classic CHEVY ORANGE!

I wonder if my cylinder walls look that good? Looks like it's gonna be a fun set up.

No rings on the pistons. That lets them free-float which means NO FRICTION! Combine that with Royal Puple and Slick 50 engine oil additive, you can rev that bitch to 11 grand!

    What fuel system?
    What cam?

Those TF heads look outstanding!! Any issues with the valvecovers fitting over the higher rocker arm pedestal?

Well, besides all of the issues I am having with the heads supposedly not being machined correct, the engine was fully assembled and looked awesome. Now gotta take it all apart again! Oh well, enjoy these pics...

Chevy orange paint and camera flash don't mix!

These look alot better without the flash camera flash

I just got back from Race Proven Motorsports. Once again, Fran did an awesome job with the tune. I gained 56 rwhp and 38 rwtq. So that puts me at 486 rwhp and 458 rwtq. Pretty good gains for a set of heads on a stock LS1 with a Procharger. The car pulls so much harder from down low and it doesn't seem to want to stop at the top of the band! The torque barely drops after its peak.

Anyway, after B.S.-in with Fran for a while, I gotta have more power! So now its time for a cam and I'll be back for another tune!

    Before (stock heads)

    After w/ (Trick Flow heads)
