LS1 Z/28 vs LT1 SS

I was headin up the 5 north when a Red SS comes up. I let him get the jump at 60, I easily pulled him in and passed. He was laughin when
I went by. He had a for sale sign on it askin 4K. Pretty low price I thought.

Should have pulled him over and offered $2000 since he lost. Was it a real SS or a V6 with badges?
