GMPP MAJOR GUARD is the best you can get. I agree it will most likely pay for itself.

I'm surprised a T-56 would go out with only 11,000 miles.

+1. for that price I would definitely get it. Anyone ever paid for repairs on a caddy.

I just bought my 2004 CTS-V. The warranty is up in March '09. How soon before the original warranty is up do you have to decide on the Major Guard warranty? Week before, day before, monthe before? Is it bumper to bumper or just powertrain? I do fear for the rear end expenses on this car...

I think that as long as you are under GM Factory warranty you can buy a GMPP. And its coverage is just about the same as GM's Factory warranty. Obviously it doesn't cover wear items like tires, brakes, etc and it doesn't cover maintenance items (filters, bulbs, spark plugs, etc).

i no it... the v t56's are supposed to be even stouter than the gto and f body ones.... mainly there was a internal vibration that led to a clunk... so it was cheaper to put a whole new on in that tear the old one apart diagnois it and try and fix a potentialy hurt tranny....
gmpp is electircal suspention steering powertrain all the big dollar crapp dont cover trim peices interior panles or fits... squeaks or rattles...
