A lot of you guys are missing the fact that he was only running 10 psi instead of the 17 that he put down 680 rwhp with. Even if he's only getting 20 rwhp per psi, and unless it's a small turbo that's conservative, that's still costing him 140 rwhp. Getting walked at 540 rwhp is still pretty cool, but it's not a 9 second car at that power level. It's a mid-low 10 second car getting walked on by a mid 9 second WRX or faster. I think you should take another shot at higher boost if you get the chance. I'll bet that it would turn the race around. If not, then that WRX is pretty damn impressive indeed.

But come on, to pass a built LS2 w/ twin turbos like it was standing still? That should be a 9 second car. I'm finding that a tad difficult to believe.

I'm sure when he says 'standing still' he is exaggerating somewhat, using it to express how bad the kill was. But even so at the lower boost level he was at it is more than possible for a highly built WRX with 700-800+rwhp to blow his doors off. There's nothing really too hard believe about it, he ran into a crazy fast import.

The car was probably only putting 500 to the wheels. It probably weighed 2300 w/ the driver....

Yeah you're right, I went back and reread it and he probably was around 540rwhp when he raced. But let me ask you this, if you just got your doors blown off and your car has been tuned to run on 17 and you're only running 10lbs, what's the next logical step? You guessed it, I'd have turned it up and ran him again. I dunno, maybe that's just me.
