    853 heads

    i'm new to the site and have enjoyed reading on here. i had a friend give me a set of 853 heads tonight and said i should put them on my car(well have them put on my car). how much difference would it make on my car?..i don't know shit about working on cars, but i wish i did....let me know what you think.....

    Naw, I have 853 heads, and I think they are just regular LS1 heads
    SLP LT's, SLP High Flow Cats, 3" Flowmaster CB, Comp Cam, SLP Lid, LS6 Intake, BBK 80mm TB, SFC, Ram Air HO Hood, Lowered, Torq Thrust II's

    the 853 heads are stock from 98-00, then they had the 241 head which was pretty much the same head. If you find a 243 head then you are in business they are the ls6 head.

    If the 853 you have now are ported then you may have something. Take pics of the intake ports and post them up. If they are not ported then you will waste time and money installing them.

    correction...98 were the 806 heads ...then in 99 they went with the 850 on up to 01, where they got the 241 heads
