    Subframe conectors?

Is it true the verts came with sub-frame connectors from factory? I was sorta browsing around for some for my 99 and found that mentioned on a vendors site.

Same here, I have the weld in sub frames and I had to ditch the K member for clearance on the exhaust. Can't tell a difference without that k member. Sub Frames definetly make for a stiffer ride.

How much, if any, clearance did you lose?

I've got stock exhaust and it jist tickles the ground as I go in and out of my parkade if they're any lower than that I forsee problems.

I'd really like to add them, hopefully they'll help keep the car tight longer.

The factory-supplied 'vert-unique reinforcement under the floor pan ("K" member some have referred to above) is commonly mistaken as a "sub frame connector", it's is NOT. While it does stiffen the floorpan to resist twisting, it doesn't come close to the function or performance of a real SFC.

Factory bracing was intended to allow for a smoother ride . If you want a MUCH stiffer ( READ,rougher-jigglie ) ride then by all means go ahead and install the sub-frame connectors . The down side includes , less ground clearance, much harsher ride quality, added extra weight , power to weight decrease , less MPG . Take your choice .

I can't really tell how much you might lose, mine is lowered two inches front and rear (compliments of the previous owner). My exhaust hangs below my sub frames, so I actuley didn't lose anything from the sfc's. Measure the difference between the lowest "scratch point" and the frame, then just find something that will fit in that space.

I don't see how subframe connectors promote squeaks & rattles; if anything, they decrease the squeaks/rattles....and many SFCs "tuck" into the underbody, so you lose little, if any, ground clearance....

(Factory bracing was to reinforce the body since the there is no roof)

I have them along with a STB
the ride in no way suffered it is much more responsive
and flex under hard excel is now limited

clearance is no issue they tuck nicely and the y-pipe actually hangs lower

I would highly reccomed them for an Fbody vert

(now lowering springs that might be a diffrent story depending on the rates)

I agree, the ride is firmer with less squeaks and rattles since the chassis is sturdier with reinforcement - squeaks come from stuff flexing and rubbing.

The firmer ride is GOOD becase these are performance cars. Since the frame is not twisting and flip-flopping, the suspension can do its job properly and control the body motions. The benefit to handling is really great.
