Different pulley usually wakes them up a bit. KB whipple blowers are an entirely different animal. 600+ rwhp is not uncommon with KB blowers.

I can't wait to try out my GN on the track. I just dropped in a built shortblock w/Lunati cam, P&P heads/intake, front mount intercooler & bigger turbo. I have been told by guys with similar setup run 11s @ 115+ on pump gas and low 11s/high 10s on race gas with this turbo. I have my eye on a BB-T-70 for next summer though.

I wasted an 05 stang this summer real bad. I was actually dissapointed . By the time i hit 2nd there was at least 2 car lengths between us. I thought the first one was a fluke, but we ran at least 3 more times with the same result. I haven't had the chance to run another one to see if the guy was just a bad driver!

Anyway, I'm a firm believer in the saying that, "There is always someone faster out there, it just depends on how much money you're willing to spend."2005 SRT-4 : Stock for now

Black ASC#7564 May11,2001- 2001 Trans Am WS6
Out of an average of 26 road tests for Camaro 1998-2002 and 9 road tests for the 2005 Mustang these are the results: (Manual Transmission)
Camaro 0-60 5.3 seconds
Mustang 0-60 5.3 seconds
Camaro 0-100 12.50 seconds
Mustang 0-100 13.35 seconds
Camaro 1/4 mile 13.6 @ 105.7 mph
Mustang 1/4 mile 13.9 @ 102.3 mph
Quickest Mustang test I have found so far 13.50 @ 102.4. I heard someone ran a 13.3X but I have not seen it.
Quickest Camaro test 12.89 @ 107 mph
Slowest Camaro 14.1 @ ??? from MSN.com
Slowest Mustang 14.3@102.31from Edmunds.com
It looks like the Mustang will hang 0-60. But the LS1 will pull on it after that. I think the Mustang is a little easier to launch.
Don't forget driver skill.
Good driver in Mustang, not so good driver in Camaro = Win for the Mustang.
Mach I 5spd 2003+
Average 0-60 5.24
Average 1/4 Mile 13.53@104.48
Quickest 13.18@105.24
Slowest 14.12@105.5
(Averages from 10 road tests.)
As you can see, the Mach I is still the King of naturally aspirated Mustangs.
Also, this car can do pretty well against an LS1. It can easily be a driver's race although, everthing being equal, the LS1 still has the advantage.
I raced my friends Mach I from a roll. Both cars factory stock. It's a quick car and could possibly take me in the quarter if he gets a better launch, but my WS6 will eventually catch up. There is no contest on the highway. Bye bye Mach I....
More Stuff to compare:
Camaro 60-0 126ft
Mustang 60-0 127ft
Camaro Skid pad .86g
Mustang Skid Pad .86g
Camaro Slalom 62.13mph
Mustang Slalom 63.7 mph
Camaro Top Speed 160
Mustang top Speed 150
Camaro MPG 19/28
Mustang MPG 17/25
Average STOCK M6 2002 Camaro Rear Wheel Power 314hp 330tq
Average STOCK M5 2005 Mustang Rear Wheel Power 268hp 282tq
With a 12% drivetrain loss =
Camaro 357hp
Mustang 305hp.
The Ford guys are right. The Mustang IS underrated! Five whole horsepower!! They are now making 5 more hp than the Lt1 had back in 1993! Only 95 hp to go to finally catch up with GM. They are almost there!
I know I sound like I'm bashing the car but I really do like the new GT. It is a nice car. It's just not up to LS1 performance standards yet.Last edited by DarthD; 01-24-2006 at 07:49 PM.
