Got Smoked by Old School.

I was wandering around two days ago, looking for a place to grab a snack for lunch and perhaps rinse some of the road grime off my car, when I hear the unforgettable sound of a roots style blower on a big block.. close too.
NO idea where he came from, I definately didn't see him approach.
He runs up along side me on the left and breaks off a couple revs..I grin and nod.. He ( older guy, had to be 50s) smirks and points forward, I agree.
I think this may hurt, but perhaps this Gorgeous early 80s El Camino has no traction ...
I mash the gas, so does he. Lord that thing is loud... Nope, he has traction.. Tubbed, Mickey's and a 4 link set up on a 9 inch it looked like. BOOM... I tried like hell too.. but at about 90-110 he had to have 3-4 lengths on me...I tried to flag him down to see what it had.
But he just gave me a thumbs up ( I yelled NICE ride man) and he grinned and jammed the throttle again. Sounded SICK. Looked like straight pipes off the headers, turned out right in front of the rear tires.. LOUD as hell..A Good Loud if you know what I mean... NO mistaking the big block sound.. Had nice rims. Pizza cutters up front and like 30 inch MTs out back. A light silver ghost flame overlay on top of this deep emerald green paint. hard to explain but man it was Beeyootiful..Made it hurt less that it was a gorgeous car.

Awesome! My dad used to have an El Camino that he modified for the drag strip. Thing was sweet, got me interested in cars when I was little.
