stop light action with 2003/2004 cobra!

I met the wife for dinner, so we were there in seperate cars. She left the parking lot first, I got stuck waiting for some SUV to navigate its way out of a spot. Wife, a little ahead of me makes it through a yellow light, I get stopped at the red. Pole position

I notice some familiar healights comming up behind me, and the inverted hood scoops when it is next to me. It's a 03/04 Cobra. I figure, what the heck, I might go down, but I'll go down swinging. Light turns green and I get just slightly ahead. I can't go full throttle in 1st or I spin. I grab second after the intersection, he's right next to me now. I head the blower under his hood. I mash the gas down, stay in second until I see him start to slip back. Third and back on the gas as fast as I can (too scared of breaking something to power shift). He's dropping back faster now. Getting up to some big $ fine type of speeds I stay in it just long enough to put his car completely behind he so he sees my brake lights and doesn't think he reeled me in. After slowing to reasonable speeds he passes me on the right (not really a ricer fly-by, I think I slowed to under the speed limit being over cautious). He makes the next light and I get stuck at another red. I had to turn at this intersection, so no more racing for the night.

The best part of all this. It was in my Miata

While the car isn't technically a "Monster Miata" as is wasn't converted by Monster Motorsports, it is is a V8 miata, done from this kit:

The car has a 5.0 (I know, ls1.com and all, but I thought because of the Cobra kill it would be okay) with:

TMoss ported Cobra intake
1993 Cobra MAF
24lbs injectors
TFS heads
e-303 cam
T5z (2.95:1 1st)
7.5" LSD (Thunderbird rear to keep IRS) with 3.27:1
