12.3x @ 109 mph with a dead hook 1.76 60" time. These numbers are absolutely ideal conditions:
1. No traction issues
2. A very skilled driver behind the wheel of an automatic
3. Great DA at E-town (a track known for spitting out times that are typically pretty good)
I'm surprised that even the Ford tuners are struggling to toss out a car that consistently can perform with an '03 or '04 Cobra. They advertised 385 hp at the crank on those cars and I imagine MOST would dyno within 5-10 hp of the 427R (and it's advertised 435 crank hp).
Finding a 427R bone stock on the street shouldn't be much of a concern for a good driver in a bolt on LS1....the race would likely be VERY close. That being said, the 427R should respond relatively well to mods (stall, gear swap, pulley swap, etc.).2002 Camaro SS M6, 2.5 PRC 5.3L heads, TFS 228/230 cam, FAST 92, bolt ons + a 10 lb bottle in the back.
1989 Corvette L98, A4, Full bolt ons, etc.

Totally disagree. You spend that money because you really wan't a Roush 427R. It's upscale, it's rare, and most of all, it's fast. And then you get ran by an automatic LS1 with just a lid and exhaust. Has to hurt a little.
Don't get me wrong, it's a decent performer. But I expected much more from it.

I agree, you get a car that says 427R on the side for specific reasons and one of them doesn't come true against a car you can now buy for 10 grand.
