Z28 vs M5
Pulled up next to a Blue M5 today at the light. It was the E39 version, 99 through 03 model. The guy looked in his fifties and had his wife in the car, well i assume thats who she was. We get going and i didnt expect him to actually want to run, i was wrong. I see the front of his car raise up so i hit it, i shut off at about 80. Put about 2 cars on him, he wasnt the greatest driver though. Still suprised him pretty good though, the look on his face made my day much better.

Nice kill!
I'd like to run an M3 or M5, however I just haven't been able to get beside one. I'm excited to see the release of the new M3....finally joining the world of V8 power! Should be sweet!2002 Camaro SS M6, 2.5 PRC 5.3L heads, TFS 228/230 cam, FAST 92, bolt ons + a 10 lb bottle in the back.
1989 Corvette L98, A4, Full bolt ons, etc.

Well the E46 M3 a raced last weekend put up a better fight than the M5, both are about the same year i believe. Im sure id be seeing tail lights if it was a newer M series though.

Monterey Maroon Metalic- 2000 Z28
Oh yes, and it is good. Redlines at an insaine 8,400rpm and makes 420bhp but low on torque if I remember. It's based on the M5 V10 just two cylinders less. Lots of carbon fiber on the car, very strong chassis and just looks mean. Also this 4.0 V8 has a throttle body for each cylinder, weighs less and makes more power than the outgoing 3.2 I6.
Here's an Edmunds article with some vids:

R&T 0-60 4.1 1/4 12.5@114.8MPH not bad for a car that weights over 3600LBS. Still ugly and way overweight and still slower around the ring than the CSL e46M. Is it me or does it look like a Honda accord. Is this in C6 territory as far as straight line performance? Thoes R&T times seem awful quick for a car carrying that kind of weight.

Nice kill, what mods do you have? E39 M5s are quicker than E46 M3s.

K&N intake system. I think the guy in the M3 was just a better driver.
