    What Heads And Cam For Eventual 383 Stroker?

    I am looking to heads cam intake on my camaro. The problem is that I have had my eye on a 383 stroker kit. Does it matter if I get a certain cam and heads combo (I will be doing a FAST 90/90 set up regardless) for my stock 346 and then change the internals to a 383?

    I know its confusing, I just want to get H/C/I now but dont want to change it all when I get a 383 kit. I didnt know if the CI change would change the kind of heads and cam needed.


    And I know there will be additional labor involved, but the 383 will probably come a year or so after the H/C/I

    I would recomend a large cam with some patriot stage 2.5 5.3 heads with those gold springs. I remember a guy who had a 382 cube motor w/ some 1.7 headers, ls6 intake, ported throttle body. Said vehicle 00' SS made 495 at the wheels with a dyno tune. The cam was larger than a 232/240 at.595/.608really was not street friendly though. Just my .02 cents

    This is in the same category as guys that want a NA setup that will work FI. You'll have 2 setups that won't be optimal. You'd be better off to wait until you do the stroker and then set the heads/cam up to that motor.
