    Idle problems after Converter install.

2002 TA bone stock 50k miles with a 2800-3200 Lock up Converter. I have drove the car 100 miles a day for the last two weeks.

Car is stalling at low rpms mainly when turning, or at low speeds with the a/c on when stopping. The car idles in gear at 600 rpms. When it starts acting up the tach bounces beween 400 and 600 rpms.

The car would not idle at all after installing the converter. I had to hold the throttle to keep it running, after about 2 minutes it seemed to be ok.

The new converter was much lighter then the stock converter. Could this be causing the problem?

    Will this require a tune?
Is there a simple way to idle up the engine permanently?

Any help will be appreciated, thanks John.

It does require a tune, nothing major. Adjustment of the throttle cracker and idle should do the trick and get rid of the surging and dying.
