driving home from the casino last night
I'm in 6th gear cruising @ about 70 mph. I am in a fairly good mood because i made 700 bucks on the black jack tables. I am in the "slow lane" approaching a few cars, so I turn my blinker on, (keep it in 6th gear). I proceed to pass them. When one of the cars darts out, and guns it. Practically cutting me off.
It was a lowered, fart can exhaust, tinted, aftermarket wheels. silver Hatchback GTI. (not sure what year) fairly new.
I don't think to much of it at first, but he slowed down, and I was catching up with him (still going about 70mph)-- He speeds off again.
I realize that he wants to play. So I drop only to 5th (lol) all that I needed. and played catch up. But he obviously didn't want to line up. Because he stayed on it till over 100 mph. I know because he was still putting distance on me after I maintained 100 mph.
Now I am irritated. Because I rarely have an opportunity to get a race.
Traffic opened up, and he is a few hundred yards ahead. I drop to fourth and proceed to catch him like he was sitting still.
traffic was approaching, so I lay off, because I like to think I do have a wild streak in me, but I am not going to put others at risk to have alittle fun.
So i back off.
He continues on, doing well over 100 mph-- I finally gave, up, because in order for me to catch him I was going to have to do probably 130 mph, which I was not willing to do.
bottom line--- I was so aggravated that he wouldn't be "man" enough to slowed down, and let me safely get beside him and run them.
I guess that is the majority of youth "racer" mentality, if you can't beat them, put everyone on the road way in danger and then brag to your buddies on how a WS6 couldn't hang.
I could have easily flew by him at 140+ mph like he was sitting still, but I was a bit smarter than that.
SO instead of a kill, I guess you could say, I prevented an accident. If he is willing to go that fast, and cut me off. I am sure He would have been dumb enough to go past his driving limits.
Sorry for the story book. This is why I just assume line up at the track, Because people are A-holes on the street. I was surprised he didn't put his hazards on.
PS with my 700 winnings, I am buying a Pro 5.0 w/ Lou's short stick. Giving the wife some to spend too.

LOL-- I guess you are right, I just hate knowing that this dufus is probably typing on a VW board about how he "blew my doors off" LOL--
I know.... you know.... everyone with half a brain knows, but the object is to let them know they are no competition.
Oh well, I can't wait until the track opens up this year!

Smart move man. I caught a guy tonight after he did a rice fly-by, then i caught him, lined them up @ around 80ish. He down-shited and i left it in 4th, left him like he was standing still.(no traffic just me and an idiot)
Well after i slowed down, i was like what happened? He just flicked me off and quickly got off the next exit. WTF?
I really am just gunna quit waisting my time and gas for these punks. (at least if i dont have a video cammera w/ me)lol

Very smart move I had something similar happen when I was playing around with a Porsche the other day. We would line up eventually and then I we would both take off from around 60. I would just put the car in fourth and go up till around 90ish or whenever I had 4-5 cars on him then slow down. We did this about 4-5 times and each time he would just keep going for a long time. For me it was just to dangerous and a waste keep running up that long. Does not really matter what some stranger thinks, better to be safe and know the facts then fix their delusion and risk a big ticket.. or much worse.

had a late 90s mustang do the same thing to me last week, would just kept flooring it so that we couldnt line up eventually we came to heavy traffic and an area i knew was crawling with highway patrol so i backed and he kept weaving in and out of traffic about a minute later i pass him as he is sitting on the side of the road getting a ticket
