get an ls1 i found my 6 speed with 84K miles with a hurt clutch for 5,650, the cobras are over priced and are not at the same level as the ls1.

Damn thats a really good deal. Depending on what i find out here, people are over pricing the camaros IMHO.

Yea I am thinking about selling my LT1 soon and buying either another LT1 M6 car with lower miles or maybe go and buy an LS1 or maybe get a 99-01 cobra or just whatever I find out there I guess.

heck when you sell the lt1 tell me. i might have the money by then to get another one. i'd like an m6 one as a daily driver anyways. but definitely get the lt1 or ls1. not the cobra. cobras are not as good

Yea its going to be like another month or so, I plan on getting a new driver side mirror sense a van came really close to running me off the road and swiped it, other then that I might do a little bit motor work (intake + tune) and repainting the car (keeping it black) other then that it has no problems

my moms car reacted really well to the morosso intake tb bypass and wedge for the throttle body. If you could get a used intake, programmer and throttle body i would do that also and then just sell them again for the same price you bought them for when you decide to sell your car. What is done to your car?

not really. it's pretty cheap power with an lt1. when you compare it to the extra cost associated with getting the ls1 to start it's actually cheaper. lt1's respond very well any modification. heck you get 18hp out of just a cold air intake from k&n. you can make an lt1 produce the same amount of power as an ls1 with about 1400 dollars. and you came make it produce about 370 with a good set of custom heads and high lift cam and 1.6 roller rockers. i mean on a stock lt1 you gain 26hp from putting 1.6 roller rockers on it and raising the the lift up to about .5. lt1's have very few problems in my mind. the optispark problem can be fixed with a 500 dollar msd replacement if it's a problem but mine works fine and has 80000miles on it from what my records say.

My dad had an lt1 formula with a procharger, headers, tune, exhaust, and a couple other goodies, but head and cam ls1 had no problems beating it. With an ls1, you put heads, headers and exhaust, cam, a lid, and a tune and your over 400whp very easily. I'm not putting the lt1 down, but it can't compare to the ls1 when making power.

I never said that lt1's can't make good power. I just don't think the heads are as capable as some of the gen 3 stuff. My dad is friends with a big lt1 head porter and he does some pretty cool stuff that lt1s couldn't have done 5 or 6 years ago.

BS there is no way an lt1 is making over 400 to the wheels with just heads. What did you dain 150rwhp from heads? That is like 175 flywheel horsepower.

LT1's have gone over 500 rear-wheel naturally aspirated with stroker/solid-roller combo's. It's obvious that you are not fully educated yet, but you'll get there

that is a nice setup. i was reading about a lt1 that the guy stroked and put 228cc heads on with .600 lift form the cam and 1.6 roller rockers and put down 590 to the wheels naturally aspirated

Nice set up, I am guessing when you say LE1, its the Loyd Elliot kits right?
I think they are the best bang for the buck.
