I remember when I had my 02' SS, my buddy had an 01' Lightning. We went to the dyno together, I was bone stock @ 313 RWHP and he had some mods (smaller pulley, cai, retune, etc.) @ 404 RWHP. With the weight difference, we ran remarkably close in a race.

Well.....it WAS. I don't have it anymore, hard times hit and I had to sell it. But, I do have both a 3rd and 4th gen now, so I am happy. This LS1 feels strong too, I can't wait to dyno it. I want to do that before I do any mods.

PS - I love those Lightnings, they are sweet ass trucks.

Great numbers man! If I had to own a truck, a Lightening is #1 on my list! Nice to have a vehicle that can move furniture and still stroke down the quarter in the low 13's (and considerably less with a few choice mods).

Your numbers are right on! I have 21 01-04 Lightnings in my dyno database and they average 351hp and 424TQ. Those are some nice trucks.

Also, 313hp is about average for a 2002 Camaro SS with a manual transmission.

There were a lot of "freaks" in 02. I tuned an A4 2002 Z28 recently that put down an amazing 326rwhp! A factory 12-second automatic car.
